switching question...

i have some project here that i want to convert into a "pedal". the trouble is that there's a 6 way selector switch (2P) that i would like to convert into something i can control with my foot. is a relay the only way to go?
i had some bad experiences with these until now and there is a slight delay no matter what and i don't like that really...

BTW - I will put up the halo picture guide pretty soon, i am sorry it is taking me so much time but i am very very busy...

If its not a heavy load you could do a electronic switching system. Something like a pair of 4051s controled by the same logic output.
