I can't get Q4 to act right.
I'm getting 3.25v at the Emitter and Collector, 4.25v at the Base.
Measureing 10k from V+ to collector , 2.26K from Emitter to ground, and the 4k7's string seems to measure correctly also, with the transitros pulled.
It sounds but is weak and gated because of Q4...]
I have 10k on the collector
two 4k7's on the base and a 3k3 on the Emitter.
I've  been through and through and Q4 still has me stumped Grr... :)
 I'm using 5089's MPSA18's etc.

Nevermore, I got it !
First I changed the 2k2 I had in there for the 3k3, and that helped but not enough.
I then tried 14k7 on the collector, and that was worse again.
The 4k7 parallel to the 10k, [probly about 4k6] did the trick. Voltage jumped up to about 5v on the collector and all funny symptoms were replaced by the beautiful sustains and Chrunches the Obsidian Does So Well, a very Heavy OverDrive Sound.
Thanks go out to Joe Davisson for this circuit !!!
