First off, here's my Birthday treat, a 1985 Jap Telecaster in "Diablo" red !
A bit of an "Ebay Bargain" as it plays really well and sounds GREAT !!

Then, just when things were going well, I decided to improve a little Park G10r amp, which only set me back £25  and needed some attention.
Changed out the tone pot, three new op-amps to make it sound a bit sweeter, and a 1N4002 in the diode pair to stop the overdrive compressing so much !

Put it back together and didnt notice the "Positive Mains" cable had come loose and was touching the bottom of the case, plugged it into the mains and  BANG !!!!!
Good job that ~I was not touching the metal case at the time

Thats the almost welded "Burn" on the inside of the case !!!!  DUH !

Good news is,
1--- I'm still here
2--- The Amp board did not get damaged, so a quick re-wire and its sounding great !!

Moral:
Always check the board/cables for loose/foreign objects as this is not 9v
im playing with !!!! :D

Enjoy,
Marty. ( 7 lives left! )

Hello Marty--
Did you ever own [or try] a Green Amp??   I think they're basically a Matamp.
Brian.

Happy Bithday!

Nice guitar. I also like the amp behind...

Btw, a thing to pay attention when working with live circuits: Do not wear jewels...

I once soldered a ring (well, it happened twice to me in my entire life   ) to a circuit while trying to repair it. Sometimes, the voltage is low enough to be safe, but high enough and with enough current available to spot solder.

I had to cut the ring because my finger was burned under the ring.

So take care.

Sorry, I had to do it...

Happy Birthday!
If you wanna try something explosive, do like I did some months ago: I touched the plate of one of the el34 of my jcm 800, more or less 400-500 V dc. I'm not kidding, it hurted.
I just wanted to bias the amp but I discover an interesting way to  accelerate my heartbeat, a bit violent but effective... Next time I'll try it with a  bulblight with my mouth, I think I can light it on....

Mmmmm... Matamp.... I want one. Such lovely brick-melting tone.

Here's my dumbass story of the day. A few weeks back I had my Morley Chorus/Flanger open seeing what was wrong with it. Turns out the light bulb in it is burned out. I figure no problem I'll just pop it out of there and go get a new one. STUPID FREAKING DUMBASS ME grabs a screwdriver and goes to unscrew the thing that holds it in place.        :?   ZAP!SPARKS!POP!EEP!

Yeah, so that's the last time I ever poke around in an effect that comes with a built-in power cord without UNPLUGGING IT FIRST.

Damn, that was dumb.
