um thanks, but i always thought that a led was just an arrow with a line on the end. ive never seen those two little detached half arrow looking things near the symbol though. but if you say that they are just normall leds, then thats cool with me.

How things "look" on schematics is partly a function of the drawing package you use.  In much the way that cursive handwriting is more or less standardized, drawing of electronic components is also more or less standardized.  E.g., some packages/styles will show a resistor as a zigzag line, others will show it as a rectangle.  Some will show a cap as two parallel lines, whether polarized or not, others will show a straight plus curved lined for polarized.. Some use the convention of three parallel lines of decreasing length to show ground, others will use something else.  Some will use a downward-pointing filled arrowhead to show V- and upwards arrowhead for V+ while others will show a circle with polarity drawn inside for the same thing.
