Ok, another one.  :)

This one looks good. I even tried it together with his wave generator and it worded.

I wanted a scope software for my laptop.

Here it is. Freeware of course.

Here is the wave generator.

I use my laptop for just about everything. How do you go about making the cable to use the software scopes on a laptop?

gtech

I bought a cable like this and changed the plug for a 1/8" mono plug for the mic input.

It was faster than building the whole thing.

I also adjust a small wave generator that I built to a standard level like 0.1V or 0.2V pep with a scope at work.

I can then use that level as a standard level that can be used to adjust the level displayed on the Laptop. From there, everything measure I take is correct.

That cable is to make measurements on a circuit. But I also have a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter cable that I use to go directly from the output of an effect to the input of the Laptop.

Btw, I also used for a long time, and still use Gtune.

That's my reference when I tune a guitar with new strings or with a new set-up.

gtech, thanks. I downloaded the scope (yet another) and will make or buy and mod a cable. My main problem was that I wasn't sure if these could be used with laptops since they don't have cards with all types of connectors. Thanks again.

I take it that the Wave Generator program isn't accurate, or needs to be calibrated?

Well, I was talking about the hardware version of the Signal Generator I built that needs calibrating.

That's gives me the idea to check if I can use the software Wave Generator as a standard to adjust my hardware Signal generator.
