FUZZ CENTRAL DOD YJM308 Question

Im building the Malmsteen distortion on Fuzzcentral http://bryant02.home.att.net/pcbs/yjmlayout.gif
and have a question about the Gain pot.
I understand that lugs 3 and 2 go to the 4.7k, but does lug 1 go to ground? Secondly- is that a B500k or an A500K pot?

I think gain pots are typically linear in this type of circuit.

I guess I should have posted a quick follow up- I went ahead with the way I thought and it works great!

Yep 3 and 2 go to 4K7 and lug 1 goes to ground.

500K reverse audio taper pots work best for the gain controls in the Dist + and OD250 circuits...not sure whether the YJM308 uses linear or reverse audio.

thats funny because it works with 2 and 3 going to the 4k7- but the control is backwards for the gain amount. Kinda interesting... I guess I'll have to find some reverse pots.

Try wiring it with only 3 going to the 4K7 and with 2 and 1 going to ground.  That should make the gain control work like the Distortion + and OD250 circuits, with the amount of gain increasing as the control's turned clockwise.

A linear taper pot will work, but usually most of the distortion range would be bunched up at the end of the pot's rotation.  A reverse audio taper pot would smooth out the transition.
