How Would You Do This To The Octavia??

I built a friend the Octavia and he loves it's volume and extream fuzz.  However, he is interested in a sort of "half power" switch to lower the amount of fuzz BUT NOT THE VOLUME.  I'm interested in ideas on the best way to achieve this using the Octavia circuit found below:

Thanks so much!!

Put in a mixing circuit at the end :wink:

It's more than just a matter of mixing in some clean signal.  The thing is, I want to keep the volume boost but lower the amount of fuzz somewhat with a switch.  Even at lowest fuzz settings, this thing is pretty crazy!  I want to be able to keep the volume boost but lower the fuzz some with a switch to be able to use this like a booster.  It doesn't have to be clean, but if I can get rid of some fuzz when desired then flick a switch and have the over the top Octavia sound... great!

Just so happens, the Octavia was one of the pcbs i etched last weekend.
AsFarAs "reducing the fuzz", "but not the volume", my first thought would
B 2 take 1 of the diodes out of circuit.  Guess that would make it
"1/2wave" instead of "FullWave".  This would undoubtedly reduce the
volume some, but how much, I won't know til I get the thing built.
Also, changing 2 1N40xx diodes or even LEDs will increase the rectified
volume compared to the specified Ger diodes.
I designed my pcb to allow adding of a preamp/mixer as I thought I might
want to mix some of the preamped input ALA it's in phase;
but outofphase might have musical possibilities also.....(?)
As 2 the Gers...U could put 2 in series..that would double the voltage.
There R lots! of possiblilties with the isolation xfmr.  That's why i decided
2 build this version instead of the "differentialoctave" type.

On my Octavia, I always run the fuzz control all the way off, as this brings out a more pronounced octave effect. Then if I want more distortion, I kick in the Fuzz Face. Good enough for Jimi, good enough for me. So I guess in answer to your question, I would suggest: Build more pedals!  :lol:
