CE-2 "Popping" noises

My friends old CE-2 has been making popping noises when it's on, and it sounds like the digital clocking signal is leaking through.  It's like a constant "tap tap" when you turn the volume up.  Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?  I think it's something with the caps.
