I noticed that some people have built effects with the AD633. I have one on a breadbord but it has a 5mV band of white noise on the output. Did you have that same problem? How did you overcome the noise?

what's the peak2peak(P2P) of your signals??
If using synthesizer levels---10VPP,
5mv will B buried in the sound.  U will never hear it.
If U R using small signals, say lessthan 2VPP,
then, boost them, then attenuate the output.
If U have a small monitor amp,
(the GGG MXR headphoneamp is great!),
then U can *actually* listen to the signal.
5mv noise on a 10VPP signal is ohkay.
Now, with no sigtnal, mayb U'd hear a "hisssssss".
Use a headphone amp for a qualitative evaluation.
No, I haven't been watching the discoveryChannel.

The way I mimimise noise from the AD633, is to use +-15V rails, and make sure the input signals are just under clipping levels. Under those circumstances, the signal to noise ratio is (in my opinion) better than any other ring modulator, at least if you want precision multiplication with minimum (in my case inaudible) carrier feedthrough.

Thanks. I was hoping to go straight into the AD633 with the guitar signal. This minimizes the parts count. Other than the noise floor, it is a very easy chip to use.

A single transistor amp up front won't add TOO many parts :D
