Just rewired an old (non-LED) Small Stone like this:

It pops and there's a delay in the sound when switched on, as described in a topic I just now found here:

http://www.diystompboxes.com/sboxforum/viewtopic.php?p=56340

Is there any way to get true bypass, have the LED light when it's not bypassed, AND have the effect ON all the time?  After reading the topic above, I realized that I don't understand how the effect gets powered - to my very limited understanding, it looks like it should be on all the time anyway...  :?

Thanks much in advance!!

Snorky,

Just curious if you got resolution to this?

I am about to mod mine in a similar manner, but can see that there are more than just 'regular' connections being made to the instrument jack on the effect.

I also found (btw) a mod to allow it to sound more like a uni-vibe, though I have not tried it out yet.

Thanks,
Jim

Hmm.  No resolution.  This is an old post, but I remember there was also a problem with the caps having to be charged before you get any sound.  I gave up!  :-)

No problem :)

I found some info on it that I'm going to give a shot.

From the looks of my PCB compared to the ones in the various posts I've found, whoever owned my pedal before me went in at some point and just slopped solder all over the place.  Its a mess and it has some really small badly done outboard wires.
