All parts stand at ATTENTION !!!
 That's tight!

Cool.  Got any sound clips? And an underside?

I wonder what the smallest mass produced enclosure you could use to fit  that and off board componants

Paul Marossy

Is that Don Tillman's FET preamp by any chance?

Paul, yes it is. I forgot to mention it! :P

SirPoonga, the only offboard component is the battery! (if it's going inside a guitar), and jacks/switch. No sound samples yet, but I'll do them someday :) I'll take a picture of the underside.

Thanks to all.

That's the thing that I like about that Tillman preamp, you can make quite small, as you have shown us!

Hehe...

I had never thought 1/4watt resistors were so HUGE!

Nice work Francisco! :D 8)

It looks like you're ready for SMD!

Well, gee, you could have used 1/8 watt resistors ya know...

My thoughts exactly! Imagine a tubescreamer on a keychain, now there's a big market

Tubescreamer... it can be made a LOT smaller than my posted version ;)

Paul, I know!!! I wish I had some of those, I have 1000's of 1/4 resistors.

Peter, I have done some smd, I really like not having to drill pcbs!

yeesh....my iron already fry's normal trannies....I'll never go on to SMT!!! lol, great job there! though I'd have to say, almost anything's easy with a tonepad layout :D

Cheers,

Can I use 1/8 watt resistors on common projects?

sir_modulus

yes you can, but they are:

A bit harder to find.
Easier to fry.
Will not make layout smaller (unless you change it).
And have to be bent at specific points to fit the layout.

Cheers,

Nish

Well, that beats my best -smallest I could get that circuit was 0.5" x  0.625"! Very nice work!

Yep, goto Tillman's site.  he has it in the end of a cable!

Next I suppose someone will make this with surface mount parts...
