HI Gringo - do you know of any electronic component shops in BA, we may have una y dos horas to go to one on our trip in a few weeks. We are mainly staying at Los Locos in Cordoba and at an estancia 100 km away from BA.
Thanks
Stephen

I'm not Gringo but I'm from BA, so here are some address:

Elko: Constitución 3040
Microelectronica SH: Parana 180
Electrocomponentes: Parana 128
(in fact there are several along Parana street, one next to another)

don't expect to find anything special here, tough :( or maybe you're more lucky than me!

Feel free to pm me if you need directions here

Luck

Thanks bioroids. My wife will probably know the streets. We went to Constitution last time on the Subte, and walked to the British Hospital where my wife was born. I also hope to visit La Palacia de las Papas Fritas for a good bife!

If you're looking for a place where you can get some components not so easy to find here in Argentina, you can try www.dicomse.com.ar.. It's located at Rivadavia 4127, you have to make your order 24hs before.

A bife (or "churrasco" also) in its basic form is just a slice of meat (dont ask me wich part of the cow, I dont have a clue :) )

I think steak is the english equivalent, but we have better meat!! 8)

Sorry, this should be in the lounge

Hi Stephen, i just saw this thread (been away on a short trip). I live in Tandil, and visit buenos aires once a month or so, but i'm usually on a tight schedule so i've not had the chance to visit many electronic shops.

Luckily, miguel and gak jumped in and provided some useful info :D

One question for you guys: Have you been to Importadora Electronica (the tube shop)? What do you think of it?

Muchachos, alguno de ustedes ha comprado en Importadora Electronica? Que tal el surtido/los precios? Venden trafos, zocalos y esas cosas, o solamente valvulas?
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.

I think I can see Rivadavia on a BA street map, does it run between Plaza de Mayo, accross Av 9 de Julio towards Plaza del Congresso?

Stephen: yep that's Rivadavia (never been to Dicomse myself but I think they're the only ones who got BBD's and that kind of stuff)

Gringo: nunca fui a Importadora Electronica, en realidad les hice un pedido por mail y nunca me respondieron...

Thanks - I always find Av 9 de Julio amazing. I don't think any other city in the world has a 16 lane road through its centre!
