Dual Op Amp RAT/Screamer

Instead of using the Jfet buffer after the tone control, couldn't you use a Tube Screamer type tone control and/or buffer with the second op amp (4558, TL072, etc.) and use the first for the standard Rat distortion stage (minus the frequency compensation cap the LM308 has)?   :twisted:

Of course, but you would need a different PCB, or maybe you are building on stripboard in which case you can do what you like - so long as you don't put it in a Behringer case!
