TS-9 tone control?

The tone pot on this pedal does hardly anyhting.  I already put a 1uf where the .047 cap was for more bass, but the sound is still too trebly.  The tone pot does not seem to help much, even when turned all the way down.  I need a thicker tone!  Any thoughts, or knowledge?  Thanks!

Also, I modded this pedal to TS-808 specs.
