We have been speaking to an Argentine friend just back from buying polo ponies in BA. He stayed in an apartment in Ricoletta (with maid service) for US$30 per night. That's very cheap to us, but how does that compare with good central hotels?

Hi Stephen,

I am from Argentina, i live in Buenos aires. The place you mentioned is like 20-30 minutes by car from  the downtown of the city.
It is a nice place to go as a tour, but you will find better places to stay in the downtown of the city. Hotels in the downtown will be from $60-70 for a 3 stars to $150-200 a night at Sheraton, Hyatt, Caesars, etc.
