So does anyone have pics that can show how they've reinforced the flimsy sort of enclosures we can build?  I'm thinking especially of some really cheap tins I got with Xmas goodies in them.

Any help is appreciated...

No pics, but I used a Fossil watch tin once, and I took a decent-gauge sheet metal (it was actually the bottom of an old plastic project box), and I made an "L" out of it.  I then mounted the switch through the short side, and the end of the other side rested on the bottom of the enclosure.

A "U" would have been more stable, but I was working with a limited amount of sheet metal.

Hope that makes sense.

Wood is handy for this! just check where you need support & put wood chunks in, glue one end with wall stud adhesive or similar.
