simple opamp build that goes from clean to fairly dist

I was curious if anyone knew of a simple opamp build that goes from clean to fairly distorted.  I have built some of the 4552 circuits but they don't seem to get very clean.  I've searched around and haven't really found anything there either.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I dont know if you've tried this, ROG "Tube Reamer"  www.runoffgroove.com
Reduce the 470k to a 150k and use a 50k lin pot for gain
You get nice "Drive" and it will now "clean up" nicely !!
NE5532 single op-amp sounds great.
