OT...Attenuator...dummy load design?

Was wonderin of any of the gurus here had a design/schem for something similar to Dr. Z's Air Brake?  Something I shoulda looked into 40 years ago.
Will someone shut off that incessant phone???  You hear birds? I hear nothin!

I mostly lurk here, but here's a page you should check out. I would use the bridged T method.

Also, if you are using a tube amp, I would just use 2 jacks, one that is shorting, and create a send/return loop so that you could insert a hotplate or weber mass (both are very highly regarded). These attenuators allow for tone compensation as well as pure attenuation. In effect, they will color your sound less.
