millenium and rat

hi all,
couple questions:
1. anyone has an opinion on what will be Best to use as clippers in the rat circuit, for getting the maximum ATTACK and CRUNCHINESS ,with the minimum DISTORTION-or at least have a wider range of clean to dist. on the gain pot?
2. WHY the millenium bypass dont work well with yellow leds?
it has a glow when it should be off,and just lights up more when in on position...how can it be fixed?

i had 2K2 paraleled with the led-changed to 22K -but that didnt solve the problem....thanks anyway

It will if you use all the other same components as shown. I've had repeated success.

thanks rdv, but i cant get any 2n5485 so im using bf245 instead..
rest of the components and schem is the same.

remove the 2.2k and then add a couple of diodes between the source and the LED as shown in this drawing:
