I am working on building a Distortion Circuit using Field Programmable Analogue Arrays. Has anyone here ever seen a Switched Capacitor based Distortion/Fuzz circuit?

Switched cap seems the hard way to do it, what about switched resistor??

It does seem to be the hard way. FPAAs are basically switched cap based analogue circuits which can be programmed digitally to emulate as a certain cricuit. My Msc project is to actually explore the capabilities of this technology for music electronics.

Right, I get it now, resistors are the hardest things to build consistently at a chip level.
I guess finding some way to do a non-linear transformation will be the start. Perhaps you can deliberately overload some parts of some cells, and build up from arbitrarily stepped shapes. Whihc family of analog arrays are you using?
