slightly off topic: expression pedal > midi box build???

Hello all

I really want to have an Expression pedal to control my midi applications at the computer; my midi keyboard (Sucks) does not have expression input;

I wanted to get a behringer volume pedal, and build a box where the input would be the pedal, and the output a midi signal. Basically, resistance value > midi value

I have no idea where to begin, and how hard this can be. Or if it is possible at all... there are no simple expression pedals with midi connections available...

any ideas? any places for research?
