Question about EH Double Fuzz

Hi everyone from Italy

I am not completly sure this is the right place to ask my question...anyway I'll give it a try relying on your kindness ''

I play bass and recently bought a new EH Double Muff but, as some of you might know, the pedal has a drastic cut on low frequencies, so that as soon as I stomp on it while I'm playing with the rest of the band, it's like switching off the amp. Not exactly the "sound" I was looking for.

So, after reading a few articles on pedal mods and projects, I was wondering if there's anything I can do to let some lows through and hear a proper "fuzzy bass sound". Problem is: I can't find the Double Muff schematics.
Can any of you give a (even rough) suggestion as to what to do? I understand that similar problems tend to occur with other pedals as well, so it might only be the case for removing/changing some/a capacitor/other bit and pieces (an expert friend of mine is doing the work for me... ).
Also, any suggestions on good (loud!) fuzz/distortion pedals for bass?

Thank you all

Have a good day
ciao
