How did anybody get this stuff learned before there were forums like this where experienced guys like you answer a lot of questions within about five minutes.

They either lived by electronics periodicals, ham radio kits, or they spent their time in college electronics courses--either that or they were really damn smart and motivated, unfortunately, many of those brilliant self-taught geniuses become criminals...
