J201 substitutes?

J201 are hard to find in Italy. A Good alternative?

The BS170 is a MOSFET and is not a substitute for a J-FET like the J201.

i've tried both the BS170 and BF245 as sobstitute of j201...they work!!!
u have to invert the central pin with one of the other pin...i don't remeber if the left or right.

How was the sound compared to the J201?

I don't mess with Jfets unless I'm totally Sure of the pinout or have the pinout drawn on paper.

I put a BS170 in place of the J201 of a ea-trem....it work's!

2N5457 can be used in place of a J201 but just watch the "Pin Out" !!

I just ordered a bunch of them yesterday (and a lot of other stuff) from www.musikding.de in germany as I haven't been able to find J201's in Denmark.

It seems quite cheep (at least after danish standard) and posting in the European Union is also reasonable.

i try a j201 ...(now i have it)...in place of the Bs170 that i've put on the ea-trem....

now it works good and i have listen the different.

SO  BS170 IS NOT AN ALTERNATIVE OF J201!!!!!!!!
