i 'm an amateur at pedal building but i'm perfectly capable with a soldering.  I own two boss sd-1.  I would like to mod them into ts9,808, or possibly fulldrive.  Can anyboy tell what resistors (or any other components) need switched for any of these mods.  Like i said I am fairly new to this....maybe there is a web link I missed.  Thanks if anyone can help

If you can locate the three diodes that do the clipping, find the pair that are in series.  A simple wire shunt over ONE of these diodes will nail you 95% of a TS-9.  Just get ready for a slight volume drop, and a more compressed feel.  That's not "bad", just different.

Is there a way to compensate for that and recover the lost volume -- or boost it, even?
