I'm going to order at musikding.de but dont need if I need the Alpha 2PDT or the momentary 2PDT.

Or do I really need a 3PDT?

You can use the :

Rugged 2PDT stompswitch
or the Rugged 3PDT stompswitch. Simplest solution for adding true-bypass including status LED to a effects pedal.

Momentary switches are what you want for electronic bypass like Boss and DOD use. Alternate-Action switches are what you want for true bypass.

So a momentary switch is only ON as long as you step on it? I could think of a couple nice applications for that.

Anyway, for my next project (PT-80) I need a film capacitor. Can I just use any type as long as the specifications are the same?

Hmm, I've used quite a few and have broken three !!
They can "snap" at their collar -- very fragile, but OK for light/studio use
I won't be buying any more of them . . . . . .
