Anyone built a Splitter Blend from runoffgroove?

http://www.runoffgroove.com/splitter-blend.html

I was curious what a good choice for Q1 would be?  Most of my trannies are high gain and I really don't think that's what it needs.  I would think that it needs to be as clean as possible with at little coloring of the sound as possible.  Any help would be appreciated.

Man... am I stupid or what.  Where's the edit button when you need it?  :~)  I see the recommended trannies at the bottom corner of the schematic now.  I swear they weren't there a minute ago.

Sometimes I have to wonder if the solder fumes really do have an affect on my mind.

Feel free to delete this thread.

I built the Large case, treadle, and S/B...
Borrowed 2 of the 6 jacks...gonna use a Fuzz on one side that works 'right' with the Splitter Blends buffer as it's input driver and hardwire that in the S/B box...FF sounds 'different' with the buffer driving it...any suggestions ??
The other side I'll leave the loop jacks on I think.
