Replace tactile switch or re-house?

Here it is so far.

The switch was too tall to mount on top of the opening (why didn't I measure the old switch and it's amount of button travel..) so this one got mounted underneath. The perf you can see is just big enough to fit into the recess. With the standoff added, foot pedal travel is limited to just the right distance to acuate the switch. Belive it or not, that was exactly the right height.

The switch is 13mm tall, going with 9mm or so would be better - that way it could be mounted on top of the original switch opening. Although this one ought to be fine - it's more or less caulked in with superglue gell and with the standoff there shouldn't get broken loose. A few exceptionaly hard stomps didn't affect it.

Not the best solution, but it works.

I found an old Texas Instruments keyboard at Salvation Army.  Have 100+ switches (identical to Ibanez) if anyone needs one.  Replaced a DDL switch, perfect fit.  Thanks to the forum for the suggestion of ancient keyboards!
