I know they make alot of noise, so i am keeping them a ways away from my signal... but what about external control voltages? can they go near the timer without any serious consequences?

There are so many ways for noise to get into a circuit. Any change is registered in analog land. Ah the joys of analog.

I could go on with a list of things but this thread should give you some ideas:

I think he's asking whether control voltage lines can be routed close to clock lines -????? If so, then - yes. Induced voltages will be far less significant than the case where there is induced noise in audio 'lines' - audio voltages are often of the mV magnitude, whereas clock signals would be a number of volts (in general). Any induced voltages will be insignificant compared to the magnitude of the clock signal.

ah, thank you for thread and reply! i squeezed all my CV stuff around the clock timer, as it is kind of in its own dark little corner of the PCB.
