Input jack battery switching question

I guess most people know the normal trick of using an open-circuit TRS jack with the ring connected to the battery. This works because the ring contact touches the sleeve on a mono plug, thus providing a path between the board ground and the negative pole of the battery.

But here's my question: how would you do this if your effect actually has a stereo input? In that case you can't use the ring connection for the battery because it has a second input signal on it... I'm not aware of any jacks that have normally-open switches in them, so what do you do?

I have jacks with normally open switches in them easily available from my local... perhaps keep looking, or add a power switch?
