I'm seeing a lot of LM386 designs floating around (thanks Dragonfly), and it's being used for both mini amps and distortion effects. Before I start tinkering, I want to be clear about something. Is it safe plugging a power amp (Little Jem e.g.) into another amp? I've always avoided doing that. Or are all these LM386 designs meant to be plugged directly into a speaker?

There's too much voltage coming from the "Little Gem/Ruby" amps to plug them into another amp !.
Tim Escobedo's circuit snipits have a couple of 386 "pedals" which can be used into an amp as normal, along with joshua's and Andy's circuits, there's a few to try out !  :D
