Tone pot "inserted" in comprossor clone..

But it doesn't work as it should.. It was a 2k2 trim pot inside the box to the clone.. I drilled a new hole, changed all the pots from 21mm to 16mm pots.. Normal log and lin pots from piher..

But, the tone control seems to "screw" up the rest of the effect..
If you let the a note ring, until it dies: it squels and crackles when you start to play again.. (only a short while)

Any ideas??

-the 2k trim pot's not any sort of tone control, its some type of bias adjustment you make once, just find where it doesn't sound crappy and distorted and leave it.  Someone else may know exactly what it does.  You could still add a tone control in the hole you drilled, but you would need some extra cicuitry for a good sounding one.  One of the Dan Armstrong EQ circuits like the "purple peaker", or the "red ranger" would probably work really well with your ross clone, if you can find room for another smallish circuit board in your box.  If the box is the regular 1590bb size you should have no problo.  Good luck
