I tracked one down ! it cost me £50 but I hope its useful !!
Sounds quite like the mongoose, a bit "thinner" and "nastier" perhaps
it works quite well when playing chords and at lower gain settings, is a nice overdrive/distortion.

Electro's left to right - 2.2uf - 2.2uf - 22uf
Poly's   2n2 - 1n - 100n
Ceramics    470p and 22p I think
Pots   47k vol  10k fuzz
Transistor  BC549C
IC   LM 301AN
Diodes are a pair of 4148's
Case   Bright Red  !!
If there are any objections, no problem I'll remove the photo's

Marty, which one do you like better: Mongoose or Spitfire?

Tough to decide, I have not had the Spitfire long enough and dont want to do a "Harmony Central" type 3 second review !! ( had it for 3 hrs )
They are a bit different, as I said the Spitfire deals with "chords" better
less inter-modulation perhaps and is not so "woolie" sounding.
Its like a Mongoose with the blanket taken off your amp !!

I prefer my "vero" mongoose to the original anyway, with the TL070 chip.

Its worth trying to draw the schemo from and worth building for sure  :D

Hey Marty!
Are you sure that the cap values you've given are correct?
If so the only difference between the Spitfire and the Mongoose would be the missing 1n cap (C4 on the schematic of Analogguru) in front of the op-amp to ground!

Here you can find the schematic for the Spitfire Fuzz:

Sorry about the mistake in the mongoose schematic, R6 should be 22k instead of 1k.  The mistake comes from the automatic-value function in my program.

The correct schematic you can find at the original link:

Please delete earlier versions than this one (1.1) to avoid confusions.

IMHO the Spitfire Fuzz will sound more bright than the mongoose.

MartyMart

Analogguru, Thanks for drawing that up so quickly! ( again )
Cap values are correct and yes the spitfire is brighter sounding.
