tube screamer build

For the tube screamer schematic on muzique.com, does anyone know if the pots are linear or logarithmic?  Also, at the bottom it says 9 V DC in.  Does that just mean for you to use an additional battery, for a total of two?  Any other advice on this circuit would be appreciated as well.

Where are you in the build process?
 9V DC in is for the wall wart jack I believe...
 The tone pot is a hack job, I don't know where the right size and taper pot is available...one reason I ask where are you in the build process...because there are alternatives
