I build today a Rebote 2 Delay. I have this problem: the effect work properly in the first 1/3 of delay pot run. After the effect seems to be switch... but it is active!!!

This are the voltage difference: on PT2399:

1: 5,13 -> 5,13
2: 2,55 -> 2,55
3: 0 -> 0
4: 0 -> 0
5: 1,61 -> 2,64
6: 2,53 -> 2,55
7: 0,11 -> 4,68
8: 0,58 -> 0, 57
9: 2,56 -> 2,56
10: 2,56 -> 2,56
11: 2,56 -> 4,26
12: 2,56 -> 0,12
13: 2,56 -> 2,06
14: 2,56 -> 5,07
15: 2,56 -> 2,55
16: 2,56 -> 2,55

In the second column there's my problem, but I don't know what is. Any idea??

rocker-D82

Please, give me an idea to work my stomp! :(

Thanks...

Here is 1.37 AM... I'm going to sleep! :(
But I don't solve my problem... I think I have a bad chip... :(

http://forum.musikding.de/yabbse/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=2078

please use a translation on internet i just can' t translate 4pages

but i can give you some issues:

-first 2pages is just relevant if you substitute some caps

-then comes the part of the pt2399 itself

"bastler" circuit was not stable as the chip did get more than

5V so he measured the 7809 and it showed the 7805 was

inserted the wrong way pins 3 2 1 instead of 1 2 3

Sorry that i hadn`t made the connection earlier

Greetings JME

Sorry, but Babelfish/Altavista traslator doesn't made a good work.
So I don't understand if in the page you take me there's something interesting... :(

Can you give me a way to work to find me problem?

rocker-D82

Can I trash my stomp?  :(
I'm the only writer of this post: nobody have interesting in this problem? :(

I leave my reflection in this post.

In the wrong part of DELAY pot run (last 2/3) I read 0 V on both terminal of 1uF electrolitic cap attached to terminal #3 of REP and WET pot. I think this is not a right beaviour, because I read a differente voltage when DELAY pot is in the first 1/3... and effect work! :(
I try to give you a lot of information to help me to solve my problem. I try to change 1uF cap, but with a different one (1uf, obviosly) I have the same behavior. I think can be a bad cap attached to pin #7 of PT2399 (by watching block diagram of the chip), but it doesn't the problem. I change also .027 cap... and .01 cap attached to 1uf cap (the same!). I don't solve my problem...

I want to trash my stomp. He make me crazy!!! :(

Hey

relax I gave you the key words 7809 current regulator and
                                              7805 current regulator

both must give the correct value,that was the issue,

any other problem was (possibly) treated here and should

be found by search

I think the problem isn't here. I have 5,13 V out of my 78L05 and probably it is a correct value.

what?

I try with "search", but no one seems to have the problem like me... :(

Sorry for the search statment:oops:

but Bastler in our forum acheved his PT2399 to work

while changing the 7805 because it was OVER 5Volt

which could be deadly for this expensiv(PT2399)chip

Unfortunately I don`t know other issues that

happened to other DIYers   :cry:

Tomorrow I can try to buy another 7805 and change to my board.
It's a try I can do!

I hope other DIYer want help me by suggest other experiment to resurrect my rebote :(

You are GREAT!!! The BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I attach a pot to OUT pin of my 78L05... so I can down voltage to pin 1 of PT2399. When pot is about 150 - 500 ohm, my effect work properly without the strange behavior... :)

DIYer... Keep attention on voltage regulator!!!!!!!!!!

radio

Sorry it was YOUR idea with the pot  :lol:

Glad I guessed the "faulty part"

Congrats JMErnzer

Only a problem: on datasheet there's a nominal voltage input from 4,5 to 5,5 (better 5,0V). But my pedal work better with 4,8 V... Can I find a 78L05 so dummy???  :roll: I risk to remain to the same problem...

radio

Sorry

but don t trust a 101% your multimeter

it might have a tolerance too :shock:

My rebote doesn't work. I'm an unlucky man...
...I seriously to the way to trash my stomp...
....I think my chip is bad, beacuse I change 78L05

Now I have 4,98 V out of my voltage regulator. I think this is not a bad value...
...my chip have a PROBLEM! :(

I can prove to change, but I wait some day for the order!
