Use the rectangle to cut objects from templates!

But lets start at the beginning:

-choose size(it DOES matter) 10 to 10 holes for example

-cut resistors with appropiated values ,them caps, trans, diodes,ic

-verify nodes and values

-if everything seams right use paint bucket to fill copper

-paint with brush/stencil special elements like switches

-save often!!!!!!!!Good for any PC project

-save as BMP convert to gif, png, jpg with irfanview, xnview or similar

*Hope I had the correct order!!!!*

I found that "sink the ship game" or even chess was a good teacher

-Any correct drawing on paper just has to be copied, that s a good

start to try first fromschematic with a pencil .

Anything I d had to add??Probably yes

Give me the link of the template I ll try it with Photoshop CS

If I get an improvment I can host it in a "better" size!

Greetings JME

Please include the size of your PCs Screen :800*600 for example

Ironically I just had a phone-call to help sm one else on PC

I can answer at 10PM GMT(in2hours) no prob.

Its huge almost a mega. Its on my private homepage anyone who

needs it please copy it where you need it.

Colors aren t original anymore had to use gradiation curves to get

not too many "steps" in circles.

Hope you can use it Tom

If you try to resize it or change the format it will get blurrrrry, so you need to save it as a gif.

I saved it as a gif file for a few reasons 1. They are much smaller files than a bmp or jpg. 2. Type looks blurry when you save as jpg or 24-bit bmp. 3. I can only put gif and jpg on my web page and for some unknown reason the webmaster regularly removes jpg files    as you can imagine that is very annoying  I have not had a gif file removed yet :D

I usualy don't draw anything up before getting started so I have no idea how big the board will turn out. I start with the template it as is.

This is what I do. First populate the board. it's kind of a pain scanning up and down, but you will quickly get the hang of it. After the board layout is finished copy only the part of the board you used, open another session of paint and paste the layout to the new page. Then copy and paste the pots and other componenets to the new page. You can make the new page a lot smaller so it's much easier to use.

You can then place the other parts sketch the wiring and pretty it up for posting :D

It's very time consuming when you first start, but the more you do the easier it gets.

Hope this helps you out.

tom

look again at green ringer build report,

all you need to do now is to compare schematic with torchys

layout ,then you'll find out fast how thats been done

good luck

Admitidly, I am an ExpressPCB junkie. But, everybody needs to find what works best for themselves, right? So, nothing at all against the MSPaint templates. I think they look great. But, If I was doing a stripboard layout, I would use ExpressPCB... Not 'cause it's better or worse. I'ts just what I'm accustomed to using, and it was very easy to learn how it works.

Easy enough to draw the strips and save as a 'starter' file. Then just drop in components from the huge component library, draw in jumpers and delete sections of traces as needed. If you need smaller/bigger or just different component footprints, you can draw exactly what you need and save in the custom component group for repeated use anytime in the future with other files.

Works for me, so it might be worth trying if you haven't locked into your own method or technique yet. If anyone's interested, I can post the custom component library I've created myself. If you have ExpressPCB installed, it should be accessable if you save it into the right directory. LMK 8)

That would be great. :)  I never even thought about using Express for other formats such as vero. Neat idea. 8)
