Does anyone know what the Scintillator schem (by Stephen Giles) does??

I´ve got the filter part sussed, but is the other section some sort of (voltage triggered,maybe ) LFO??

Hi Hank - it's an exciter, designed by Paul White, long time editor of Sound on Sound, and prior to that Home and Studio Recording. It does exactly the same job as an Aphex aural exciter.

would this design still work if i used a dual pot instead of the res on switches?? kinda like this

also,can i do away with the switch as per the schem, so its wired permenantly on (use a dpdt for true bypass etc, as i don´t mind not having the LED)....

P.S: thanks again for the royal vcf schem, i´m hopefully gonna be able to scan a modded version (i posted a thread somewhere with the mods) soon, When I´ve sorted the rest of my life out (i´ve just moved to Barcelona, and I´ve gotta find a job and somewhere to live!! A little stressful, but its an adventure!!!)
