Recently I purchased the above listed transistor check and I really like it, but I'm wondering about it's accuracy. When testing a NTE126 these are the specs that I get:

Gain (Hfe) = 92
Test Current (Ic) = 2.5mA
B-E Voltage (Vbe) = 0.37V
Test Current (Ib) = 4.93mA
Leakage Current (Ic) = 0.04mA

My question is in regard to the gain reading. Will this change depending on the test currents and voltages that the tester feeds it?

Thanks for the input!

Yes.

In my limited experience of building fuzz faces I’ve found the atlas component analyser and RG’s test jig to deliver pretty much the same result so I don’t bother with the test jig anymore.  The component analyser is much faster.

One thing about my DCA55 though, it will misinterpret a J201 as a leaky NPN transistor.  There was supposed to be a software update to correct this.

Does yours do this too?
