I checked out the article about the flat mid mod and I don't understand one thing. Is the flat mid mod changing the cap to 0.1uF or is it bypassing the capacitor?

Thanks!

For what pedal?

I'm assuming a TS9?

MarshallPlexi

Sorry man.

Yeah I meant the TS-808.

Sorry to bring this post to the top again, but does anyone have an answer for this question?

The flat mid mod that fulltone uses is a 47k resistor and .01uF cap from the output of the 2nd stage of the opamp to the wiper of the overdrive/drive resistor. What this does is it will feedback a bit of the output into the neg side of the first stage to the opamp - which counteracts the mid-shunting RC circuit (4.7k R and .1uF C) already in the feedback loop on the 1st stage and flattens the mid responce.

Note the relative impeadance of the 2 RC circuits.

Hope that helps..

Thanks mojo.

This does help. :)
