Using the geofx design for a 9v to 17v converter, how much current can you draw from this thing before you run into problems?

Would it be enough to power multiple pedals with the same charge pump?

Check out the LT1054. It's supposed to give you 100mA at up to 15V input. However, I doubt It will be sufficient for multiple pedals, maybe a few.

PS: with a 5pF cap you can push it's frequency to roughly 35kHz.

I just built one for this purpose, I'm converting 9v to 18v with a max1044
It will only supply around 20-40ma so can run one or two pedals who's
current demands are limited, I used it with a Mutron III and it worked
"just about" but gave the unit a strange sound and caused the battery
indicator to flick a warning all the time !!
That draws over 100ma .........
Conclusion, find a more robust chip/PSU,  I got hold of an 18v PSU from an  old answering machine, and that works fine rated at 300ma max !
