Hi all,
I have looked into this forum for a couple of month now,
and what i have noticed is that it seems nobody are prototyping
/design with a 12ax7?. I just wonder why?
I have done several projects/prototypes of all types of
clipping techniques (germ,silicon trans, diodes, leds...all )
and found that the best sounds (to my taste of course) is
a tube.
My latest is a modified JMP-1 , see my site for schem.

i called it varitube.

Any comments on this...

well, err, I`ve been playing with valves in the past,
(preferrably 12AX7, -pure-, i.e.: without semiconductors in the audiopath),
but I`m not very communicative about my circuits...   )

(it`s the prototype of what`s now known as the E-H "Hot Tubes" (so called: "re-issue"))

I'm working on a few tube pedals right now. I recently moved and they have been put on hold but I'll pick them back up. I think everyone is going to like them though.

Aron did something called a Shaka Tube. You can do a search for that.

Also, a few years ago I did something called a Pentode Driver:

there is also a circuit around here called the rubey tube...or something like that....looks fairly easy.

paul marrosy (sp.?)  also built a couple of tube designs....
