Hey Pedal fiends,

Before tackling a phaser project or working on the breadboard, I have been busy working on a schematic for a phaser that is expandable from four to six or eight stages.  I wanted it to have plenty of tweakablilty, and of course plenty of knobs and switches to twiddle with.

I began with an M#R Phase 90 schematic, and scoured the archives, studied phaser schematics from the internet, and put together an impressive array of things that I'd like to test on the breadboard before I commit it to a PCB.

So, this week, I did some more archive research, and found this:  http://www.geofex.com/FX_images/p180plus.gif  Nearly every modification that I have planned is shown here.  With the exception of a rotary switch, and a few resistors and capacitors, it could be my schematic.  The worst part is that R.G. did this in 1998!!!

The moral of the story here is; If you have a great idea, check http://www.geofex.com/ first.  R.G. could save you a lot of work.

(The same thing happened with the WH swollen pickle.  I was designing a BMP with a transistor array, when one was dissected here.  I thought that I was being so clever, and it turns out that the idea was done years before.)

Back to the drawing board....er, breadboard.
