My latest build. It's a revision of an original DIYLC layout that I redrew and made some minor corrections on in Diptrace; thanks chrome for your tutorial. I like it better than the Violet Ram's Head Muff I made at the same time I made the first of this one, which I sold. I may have to keep this one or sell and it make another. Ahh... decisions, decisions. Have to clean up some wiring before gutshots, but she sure sounds good.

Okay, that's weird...
This weekend, I was fooling around in Illustrator with the very same "mudflap girl' silhouette image to go on a pedal....

bloxstompboxes

I made that decal the first time I built the foxy lady months ago. Took a while to figure out which girl to use. I suck at art so my decals are usually pretty plain.

Is it digital? Kind of looks like the finish is put on with a finger ;D
Also wondering if the concept was inspired by a blend or malt.
Have a great Christmas Rob - seems like yours might be starting early ;)

etching primer-> BIN Primer Sealer-> acrylic paints

Killer gorgeous as always Dave.  :icon_mrgreen:

Do you airbrush the primer and sealer as well as the acrylic paints and clear coats? What primer are you using?

I have taken one step toward airbrushing with the recent acquisition of an air compressor - hope to find a brush soon.

Do you have any more of these enclosures lying around? It's exactly what I've been looking for on my next build  ;D

Thanks Gord

For etching primer i use the one sold at Parts Source and try get a bunch of enclosures primed in the summer for winter building as i can spray out in the shed in the backyard (wearing a two stage chem respirator, nasty stuff.) The BIN you can get in a spray can but i didn't find it sprayed from the can very well so went back to the litre can and a simple one stage airbrush, super easy clean up compared to a two stage, small amount of methyl hydrate and the brush is clean again, and you can see all to be sure it's clean.

The BIN is alcohol solvent and i'll spray it in the basement year 'round. Filter it first through a bit of old pantyhose/nylon stocking and never had any problems with it.

For painting these days, mostly use Golden Fluid paints and various mediums, when airbrushing the Fluid viscosity paints get mixed with the Airbrush medium. GAC200 is a hardener adhesion promoter that i mix equal with Airbrush medium as a protective/transition clearcoat between layers of so-called art as the design builds.

Clearcoat i've been using is Target 7000 waterborne spraying lacquer, through the airbrush, i've a small gun too if i want to get a it on in a hurry. StewMac sells the 7000 as guitar finish but you can get it up here from Wood Essence. I've a can of their house brand wood instrument lacquer which is suppose to build quicker then the 7000 but want to use up the last of the 7000.
