My first stompbox - the Bradley Wankfuzz - simple dallas arbiter clone with a couple of low-gain matched AC128's. Sounds horrible, looks horrible, but it works. http://www.tpr.i8.com/pics.htmlWorking on a silicon axis face now, hopefully will be better sounding and will improve the case appearance. -Adam

Before the first charge up... ... 12 seconds later. Wish I could have taken a picture of the smell.

I just finished this today, and what a beauty! It's a Ruby with bassman mods. The switch is to change between two caps, but the caps are too close in value, so you cant really hear the difference with the two inch speaker. I built this into an old answering machine I bought for parts Nice little access hatch for battery changing, and cheap as chips!

Hey! You can add another stompswitch or two! A gain "boost" or a "treble" switch?

I don't know yet Paul. That's the bias side for the KT66s. Once the smoke cleared I took a picture and walked away from it. That was 3 days ago. Haven't been back to it since.

Bummer. I hope the tubes didn't fry, too.

Bummer. I hope the tubes didn't fry, too. That's what scares me about building tube amps. I mean, you know what you're doing, and that can still happen. I know you'll work it out, but it's those welding level voltages that bother me. I'm starting with SS first, next is a dual mono LM3886 gainclone sort of thing which I'm going to have to come up with a chassis and cabinet for... but I know eventually I'll have to build me a tube amp. Paul and Ricky... I got to the amp last night. A mistake so basic that I'm embarrassed to even admit it (hangs head in shame ) Just a simple, stupid mistake. I've been awfully tired lately and haven't been sleeping very well. Ricky...dumb question here - where do you get your LM3886? Got any pics of the amp you built with it?

welding level voltages are one thing... but if we were at welding level currents...

Great Cheddar distortion, outside and inside. More.I'm the colour man and I have to say it's a nice metallic red. The metal effect seems quite subtle, red but not firing at you. Just great. Funny you used flanged boxes. TIP: resize the pictures to the half, man. In a couple of days/weeks, photobucket will put your files on hold due to going over the bandwith. Unless you payed for it.

This is a desperation post - after 2 long months of failure. 3 failed effects (2 ring mods and my shot at a "leslie") and a blown out 50 watt amp PS. I have to post at least one thing which worked. Of course, if I don't vent the head area better or put in a fan I'm sure this one will probably crap out too. It's pretty cramped and it gets hot back there.

Here's my first two fully completed builds (except for knobs): Painted by my girlfriend and me, the one not playing with the kids painted. Labeling done by hand with a small brush. Used hammerite on the Rangemaster and a pretty cool spraypaint that cracks up on the Arbiter.
