Yes, I would say try it, it's fun. It's not that difficult. Buy some 1 or 2mm aluminum sheet to try on first to see what method works best for you.

I use Photoshop CS4 for Illustation and selfmade Photoshop based templates.
I try to Finish all my pedals digital first.
So i can see wich Knobs fit the best, or how many space is left for my project in the enclosure.

Gut shots have proven to be very hard to do... The inside of the box is extremely crammed, especially with the battery and all. Thecrappy phone cam doesn't help, either. This is the best I can do for you without disassembling the whole thing:

Maybe take a steel belt clip off of a tape measure or find something similar to bolt on?

It's not the prettiest solution, but I used to have a wireless unit and the belt clip was terrible and the chord was always in the way and looked weird.. so I just clipped it onto my strap near the guitar jack, and used electrical tape to secure it. It looked perfect cause the thing was black anyways, and because it was right beside the jack I just coiled up the extra cable and taped it too. Having it attached to the strap near the guitar was very comfortable and usable I found.. and it might be the solution for you too. But yours is blue so it wouldn't be pretty.. but I think you'll find that it is more usable on your strap anyways, and you probably would need some tape just to keep it there, even with a good clip. Certainly it would cut out a step or two when you strap into your guitar.

i can't remember if i posted my MicroAmp build before. I made it just before the 666 went up, and it was done with a TL071...

as per my earlier post, i'm not 100% sure if I posted this before, so apologies if i did.

So it's an MXR Microamp, but with a TL071. I did some research into it before I built it, as far as the TL071 goes, cos the Microamp uses something different. Can't remember off hand what it was... In anycase, the interweb suggested that a TL071 would actually give better results, cos it's generally a lower noise amp than the standard MA one. In anycase, i went with the TL071, and it is remarkably clean. My only problem with this build was that I couldn't get one of the Reverse Audio Taper pots without having to order it in online. I went with a linear taper. I know i could have used a 1M pot and some resistors, but the current pot is fine. So far, all i've been doing with it is leaving it on, at the set level i like, so it's grand.

The finish was actually done with tracing paper. I didn't have any spraymount either, so i used photomount. It's a little thicker, kinda like a light paste, and was a little messy. However, it gave a rather odd blotchy effect, which i kinda like! Makes it look a bit old or something. Anyway, it sounds great, and thats the main thing. This was also my second time mounting the pot to the board, to make everything a bit more stable, and it worked really well. I'm pleased with how it turned out in the end.

But I needed a more accurate instrument than this, with extended possibilities of checking for Ge Q's (variable Ib, Hfe, IceO, IcbO, IceS), so I had to buit it, as I didn't found anything interesting in commercial products :
