Hi ,
Still going Fuzz nuts, doing the boards for six more today...

I noticed really definite differences between the 2n3904's when testing in the Bosstone. I used new ones fron ON semi vs some unidentified ones from an old electronics shop. I get the feeling that they are fairly old stock. Anyway, those old ones sounded great in that circuit but how to ID them?   They say       2n3904 M348    would M=Motorola??

Is there any manufacturer's marking code list?

That could stand for Motorola, manufactured 63' or 73', 48th week.

Duh! I was reading 2n3904 and thinking 2n404!  No 3904's in 1963! More like 83' or 93'.
