I built a practice amp, but I want to have some built in effects using the same amp PS transformer. The transformer that I'm using is 24v 1A, but it also has taps for 6,9, and 12V . I was wondering if it would be alright to use either the 9V or 12V tap to power them. Is 1A too much? Which would be better 9 or 12V?

Thanks,
Matt

The effect will only draw as much current as it needs......

I am guessing you want modulation type effects onboard, so vibrato, trem, chorus maybe...

depends on what voltage the effect calls for.
