ok I modified this stompbox from a schem posted by a guy on another message board...Which Originally had a gain phase witha  clean boost, switchable from boost only to boost and distortion..I modified it so that either could be selected or both...Is this correctly drawn...Is it doable from this drawing???

hey
first, U spelled Bump as Bumb.
edit your post and the link will work.
Next, really can't follow the switches.
Put the actual connections (n/o  n/c) on the diagram.
kinda like this:
. _.

large dots @ connections.
with a line to indicate which is open (n/o) & which is closed (n/c).

Lastly, your gnd and ref symbols...
replace the open triangle that indicates the Vmidpoint, and call it Vref.
Will be less confusing when U wire it up.
Don't forget the pwr & gnd pins to the OA.

Oh, U have a missing gnd on the bottom of the diodes.
:-)

Ok...A little more help...Redrew, neater this time, with values in....I didn't know what you meant by the switches...But I meant to redraw them anyway....Critique me...Noone I know has time to, lol....Check it out..

:::EDIT:::Are the open triangles power inputs??I'm kinda sketchy about that....and BTW, I'm just drawing it...I've got a friend who's an engineering student who I was gonna let use this as a project, and I'd pay for it...THen I Could use it....

toneman

Hey,
after U edited, link doesn't work, now.
it's Bcause U didn't leave a space Btween the colon & the http.

The "open triangle" is the "midpoint" of the battery(9V).
It's a bad symbol 2 use since it's too similar to the gnd symbol.
That's why i suggested calling it "Vref"....actually, it's midpoint of 9V or 4.5V.
OhKay, call it 4.5V....:)

Re: the 2 switches:
Call left=SW1,  call right=Sw2.
Both SW1 & SW2 don't show the "connections".
U show connections from the fuzzes, but there is no "path" for the signal.
(that's those little wires i wuz talkin about)
*Unless*  an assumption is made....
*assuming* the middle and upper black dots of the SW are connected in the "on" position,
Then, signal will go from in-SW1-to-Fuzz1-to-SW1-to-2SW2-to-Fuzz2-to-SW2--out.
whew!!   That seems OK.  (i think)
I *think*(?) U want the 2 fuzzez in series, & B able to turn either one on/off(?)

But, when SW1 and/or SW2 is "off", there is *no* connection....no bypass.
So U wil hear......nothing.
Well, U *will* hear   "clilck".
The problem is in the SW, Luke......

Back to the drawing board..... :)

It's been in my understanding, that Pins 2 and 5 were Commons...They were active all the time....In the true bypass mods I've seen with a DPDT switch, input was 2 and output was 5....Like this

                1     4
Input--->   2     5 <----Output
                3     6

The person who orignally designed this Schem said that He believed it was correct....Since I talked to him, I've changed the High Cut Pot to a switch, and added another high cut switch, before the OpAMP....in the distortion circuit(The first is supposed to be a clean boost, I removed the diodes) and I'm trying to write it up for a 3PDT Switch, so LED's Can be used for indicator(On/Off)...

So Right now the only problem I'm having is the Switching....I know that if you align the Switch up like this...

1   4   7
2   5   8
3   6   9

Then 7 connects to the Positive side of the LED, with a Resistor connected on the Neg Side....Could someone hook me up with a switching diagram for True-bypass and LEDs? I'm stumped...

What is it BTW? And for what instrument?
Am learning something new every day here

It's a combination Clean Boost Circuit/ OD Circuit for Bass....The guy who designed it has tested it, and it works well...I'm just trying to make it more practical for my uses....As said above, the original circuit is a boost/OD with a switch to change between them...I'm looking to make it a true bypass circuit with both halves footswitchable on/off and add LEDs to them...The only part that's confusing me right now is the wiring of the 3PDT Footswitches....Thanks much

so......U now want to use this  new switch...??

1  4  7
2  5  8
3  6  9

this is called a 3 pole, double throw, or 3PDT.
U *were* using 2 DPDT, or Double Pole Double Throw.

Yes, the third pole makes a dandy LED switcher.

I was hoping U would see the one connection needed on SW1 to make it TrueBypass.
Doesn't take an engineering degree.
So......referring to your DPDT SW1, and using a similar numbering scheme,
Sig IN on 2, Sig out on 5.   Then,
When SW1 is ON, (internal)connection is between pins 2 and 1, and pins 5 and 4.
When SW1 is OFF, connection inside the sw is between pins 2 and 3 and 5 and 6.
OK, now.....which 2 pins do U connect to route the input to the output when SW1 is OFF??

tune in tomorrow

3 & 6....I got it....I'm workin on the wiring for 3PDT switches...It should be updated at the same link above (BumpnGrindBeta.jpg) I'm looking at different schematics to jury rig it all up.Your help's appreciated greatly!!

BassGuyBry

OK due to help from the other message board, I believe it's almost finished...LED's wired, switches in place...Check and see if it's correct Thanks a billion for all your help so far guys!!

U added a buncha stuff.....

U still have the stupid open triangles  :(

Looks like U turned the SW 90deg CCW  (?)

Looks like LEDs are backwards.
Still Missing Rvalue under output pot.

I believe it's about finished....Check it out...and lemme know whatcha think...Thanks

catch the link !!!
how'd U *do* dat????

drawing is better.
3PDT SW clearer if rotated back to original position.
missing Rvalue on output....do U need it??
hard to follow jack wiring, but looks workable.
guess left pot is Bump & right pot is Grind(?)
SWs = Slice1 & Slice2 ??
or,  "pre-Slice" and "Slice".
or, "Slice" & "Dice"   :)

Slice and Dice....Kick ass....Yeah, the left pot is Bump, the one in the Distortion circuit is Grind...The one that runs striaght to the output is the Kick knob...I'll just need to print this and get it to my buddy..I'll post pics/sounds after I get this built Thanks a million!!
