OT: SS in Plexi preamp

About completing my Plexi 50W:

Anyone tips on how to implement semiconductors in the preamp in a good way?
I'm really not asking the impossible  .
Just that what can be added value.

You will get far more useful replies if you post ON topic at www.ampage.org - more knowledgeable folks (amp-wise) and you won't get chopped down for suggesting SS heresy.

No disrespect intended, but why? The Plexi preamp does what it does about as well as anything is ever going to, and if you want higher gain or more saturation, there are better starting points that won't require nearly as much modification. I don't want to discourage experimentation, and I sure don't think there's anything sacrosanct about the Marshall design, I just don't see a lot of potential for real improvement without fairly extensive modifications. Just my two cents... I guess you could build a booster into the input for that whole Beano vibe.
