Hey guys...just have found review of GGG BSIAB 2 at HC Effects Reviews...and newest one is about some latest version of BSIAB 2 which has 4 knobs: Gain, Level, Tone and Contour. Where can I find scheme of this version? And what the differense? Thanks.

A wild guess is that someone put something like the AMZ Tone Control (http://www.muzique.com/lab/tone3.htm) in it instead of the original Big Muff style tone control.

Knobs...
  Pregain
Voltage drop [doubtful but cool at the same time]
Basically there's a bunch of places another knob can be used on any type build, I'd say another tone control knob is as good a choice as any, especially if you want more tone control.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I've got this thing in a big enclosure as it is so, one more knob won't hurt.  Again, where in the circuit can the "contour" control be implemented?  Anyone?  JD? Ed?

Thanks,

Jason

The schematic of the 4-knob BSIAB is just here, on top of the page:

...and its successor follows half a page down: BSIAB Extrem

Would love to hear how they compare side by sade with the original BSIAB II.

If you are willing to grasp the theory behind those changes, you can read here:

It is in russian, so now go to the end of the first page of this thread and you'll find some PDFs with automoron translations:

Looks like the 4th knob is a mid control on the BMP tone circuit. I think Jack Orman proposed this years ago and it is on his site somewhere.

Is it possible to add a 25k pot as a mid control in (relatively) the same place using the stock BSIAB II's tone control?
i.e. does the mid control add-on only work on a BMP tone control config?

Thanks,
- Buck
